On Saturday 5th October over 40 Jaguar Enthusiasts followed the invitation to meet on a sunny morning in front of the Castle Grafenegg.
After a nice little breakfast we drove through the vineyards of the wonderful Kamp valley and arrived at the winery Nigl where we had our first wine tasting and a short lunch break.
The second part of our tour went through the Krems valley and the city of Krems which is the gate to the famous Wachau. Along the riverside of the Danube we climbed up through the Dunkelsteiner forest were we had a picnic break with a great view over the valley.
After a guided tour through the eight hundred years old wine cellar of the monastery Klosterhof Spitz and a great wine tasting we continued through the scenic Wachau, heading for dinner at star cook Toni Mörwald’s restaurant at castle Grafenegg were we had our last wine tasting followed by a nice dinner.
Many thanks to Jaguar Austria who lent us the fascinating Jaguar F-Type for our tour and of course Verena and Christian Reinert for organisating this great day – now we know why it means “the Wachau is the smile in the face of Austria”.
