On the hottest weekend of the year (temperatures up to 39 degrees have been forecasted!) 18 Jaguar teams have met for breakfast at the pavilion of Sonnberghofes in Bad Sauerbrunn.
We have been especially exited about members form the Hungarian JEC joining as well as four new jaguar teams. Thanks to reports in the local press there were many visitors at the start. With excellent Catering and talking about things Jaguar we started in a nice day. Via the Wechselpanorambundesstrasse’ we toured to the city of Hartberg to climb up the Ringkogel. Due to the big heat some preferred a drink over the climbing up the view tower.
We have been allowed to park our cars on the normally closed public main square of Hartberg and have been warmly welcomed by the local tourismus manger Barbara Stumpf and gifts have been handed over. Even the church tower has been opened to us to take pictures – many thanks. Lunch at the restaurant Großschädl directly at the main square – and we continuied to the East Styria on wunderful roads to Badersdorf and ‘Aloisia Bischof’, where we have been welcomed with ice café and delicious home made cookies.
Crossing the vineyards of the southern part of the Burgenland with stops e.g. at Eisenberg with a great view to Hungary we finally landed well and without any problems at our cars cooling systems at the hotel Lagler in Kukmirn. the first drinks have already been consumed immediately in the lake. A nice dinner plus ‘Schnaps’ tasting rounded up this fantastic day. So without surprise some booked on short notice an overnight to enjoy the warm night with excellent wine.
A big thanks to our organisation team Hannes & Gitti Frech for the perfect organisation and Salesianer for the generous financial support as well as to all participants – it was a wonderful weekend.
