We met Friday evening at Hotel Langwies in Bad Vigaun which is close to Salzburg for our annual spring tour. Despite bad weather forecast the evening became a nice come together with friends. Saturday morning we started with changing morning light, passing the Postalm heading to Wolfgangsee where we took a boat to St. Wolfgang spending a visit to the famous ‘Weißes Rößl’. The weather became better and better and for our lunch break at Wachtberg at Attersee we had bright sun for our lunch break with a great view over the lake. Continuing via Mondsee we stopped at ‘Schloß Fuschl’ for coffee and cake at the marvellous sun terrace. Via the romantic ‚Hintersee‘ and ‚Wiestalstausee‘ we concluded to Bad Vigaun, where we still had enough time to enjoy the wellness area at our hotel.
Also on Sunday the weather was excellent, even the forecast was not. We started with an interesting sightseeing tour through Hallstatt. Afterwards we passed the challenging ‘Koppenpass’ and ‘Pötschenpass’ where we met our friends from the ‘Jaguar Vintage Car Club Gmunden’. Together we continued to the ‘Kaiservilla’ (royals house) in Bad Ischl which still belongs to the Habsburg family, the former royals of Austria. ‘Erzherzog’ Markus Habsburg himself led the tour through his villa and joined us afterwards in co driving in one of our Jags to Gmunden. At the main square of Gmunden we have been warmly welcomed by the town major. At the stunning ‚Healey Factory‘ we had our open end of this exiting spring tour.
Great thank to the organizer of this tour Christian Zettner and all members joining and we are already looking forward to our summer tour on Saturday 27th July to the southern ‘Burgenland and the eastern Styria.
